Styling cues and proprortions for the pieces were inspired by the classic Staunton chess pieces from the 1800s. The board was sized to the pieces correctly using current FIDE standards. Each piece is bottom weighted with lead for gravitas and has a wool felt bottom pad for scratch protection. The chess board itself has a wool felt bottom pad as well to protect your furniture.

Shown here in Maple and Black Walnuit, with a hand oiled, hand waxed finish that is smooth as butter and a joy to play on. The board is 16” x 16” x 1” high.
